A fresh intro to THE VIRTUALS - A Mega Fiction Novel

The Virtuals - A Mega Fiction Novel, explores the intricacies of mythological philosophies, in a simple yet hard hitting manner, through a plot which is weaved in the form of a thrilling conspiracy theory!
The plot is set in the background of a group of all-powerful entities, who number in billions , registering presence everywhere, but seen by only a chosen few. These are the entities, who we know as Gods, Demons or even angel or ghosts! They guide our fate, control our destiny, fulfill our prayers and reprimand us too wherever they think fit. They are everywhere and nowhere. But despite all the power they wield, they are not without woes of their own making.
There is a conspiracy to upstage the ruler of the Heavens; the Supreme Grandfather and the ranks of the Virtuals face a vertical split, both factions striving to eliminate each other. The first casualty are loyals on either side! Any Conscience, even remotely reeking of a probable threat, is eliminated by 'Deconscienceing' the subject!
And thus, one day, the rebel Virtuals chose an orphan, living on a Railway platform, being brought up there since he was four, as a threat and proceed to Deconscience him through his dreams, while he is asleep!
The boy is called Peat and the night is the eve of his 17th birthday!
The Virtuals lose their two top operatives in ensuing conflict and this brings Peat right in the middle of a raging, all comsuming battle between the gods, known as the Virtuals! One teenaged boy against the billions of all-powerful entities!
And then, the destiny brings him face to face with a mysterious adversary, known just as The Grandpa!....
The novel runs deep in heart wrenching emotions, nail biting suspense and high paced action drama.
A novel termed aptly as a Philosophical Thriller!...

When a graphic novel writer writes a novel, and when his graphic novels have clocked more than 30 million sales, and when he is good infact very good in getting inside your brain and paint a vivid canvas, which sends a tantalizing chill up your spine, when he leaves the canvas for you to draw with his colors, when he uses his caliber of an amazing story writer to produce his first novel you know what happens - THE VIRTUALS happen.....
I ordered few comics with this novel and did not even touch it for first few hours as comics are my first love but by mistake I thought to read the first page and was unable to keep it down... The story is so well knit that I was unable to figure out where to stop... God damn its just fluidic no stops or haults!!
Kudos to Anupam Sinha he has outdone himself his story telling is amazing and is like never before, the novel is so descriptive that it feels like one is reading a graphic one...
I can go on and on but have to go back to it...
This is a master piece from a maestro!! Never enjoyed so much not even Jeffery Archer, Bram Stoker, Jack Higgins or King and Strubs work... I mean that's more than can be conveyed in words... This is some high quality reading truly international standards.

The Paradox of Lord Shiva....

The OMNI says;
"Only Destruction can make way for the new Creation! The 'End' is nothing, but just the of 'Beginning' of a new Existence. Lord Shiva is the God of destruction and annihilation, yet he is prayed upon in form of 'Ling"; the organ of creation! The paradox is self-explaining!"

AN HONEST AND OF COURSE, A GREAT REVIEW

In his Review of THE VIRTUALS, Shashank Jethani compares THE VIRTUALS with his girlfriend;

I came to know about THE VIRTUALS by an old friend who was also a die hard fan of RAJ COMICS just like me and i was quiet amazed with the idea of Anupam Sir writing a fiction novel.
And in an instant i decided that it should be in my hands very soon.
When i booked the novel on Snapdeal, those 4 or 5 days of waiting were killing me.

Then one day when i came back to home from work and my mom handed it to me, i was happy like hell, it was like my mom gave me my girlfriend's hand to me.

But i only read the Prologue first and then it was a gap of approx 16 days due to my schedule and my work till this gone Tuesday.

Now about the novel, i was always admired Mr. Dan Brown Sir for his writings but when i finished THE VIRTUALS last night, my conscience was only thinking about Mr. Anupam Sinha Sir.

It is an indian answer to DIGITAL FORTRESS, DECEPTION POINT, DA VINCI CODE and ANGELS & DEMONS and even to HARRY POTTER SERIES.

It is truly a MEGA FICTION NOVEL coz its really defines the meaning of the word MEGA.

It was an mind boggling experience, a super one.

Please BOLLYWOOD contact Anupam Sir for filming rights, it should be made into a MOTION PICTURE.

And in the end i must say that all you fiction fans out there just don't miss this one, it will satisfy your hunger to the core, its a treat for all of you, all the characters are likeable but three of them are just truly LEGENDS........

And the saga will continue in

WHY TEEN REBEL?

'A typical teen psyche is based primarily on distrust, because this the only way for a nascent brain to seek and evolve alternate new paths and develop the Conscience to a few notches up!....A lesson even even Grandpa learned the hard way as he tried to convince Peat; unsuccessfully.

A review by Saurabh Agrawal

A review by Saurabh Agrawal;
Finally completed The Virtuals. The Virtuals is awesome, and not just virtually but actually. Back in 90s RC used to release a set every month. Each set had either a Dhruva or a nagraj digest, sometimes a multi hero digest. Then there were fighter toads too. Basically Anupam Sinha sir was coming up with minimum 1-2 digests every month. I always wondered how is it possible for a man to think, write and illustrate a comic every month. will there ever be a day when he will be short of a story, when he will have no story to tell, but then he came up with this and then he has negatives in pipeline and the sequel to Virtuals has already been announced. No. Anupam sir will never be short of a story to tell.
I'm not a very avid novel reader. The only novels that I've read before are The Godfather, dan brown's Robert Langdon trilogy and Chetan bhagat's books. So this is my first sci-fi novel. Actually it's not sci-fi. There is no science in it. It's not even philosophical because I find that stuff preachy and boring and it wasn't boring, neither it tried to preach. It wasn't religious coz I never came across any words like Hindu or Muslim or Christian throughout the story. It's sort of a 'thought-stirring' fiction. Watching The Monk's actions throughout the story I wondered, is God really so evil? Why couldn't god create a perfect world? Is God selfish? Does he make us suffer so that we can pray and follow him? So that we always feel that we need HIM? I mean who would need or remember God in a perfect world? The story is so very Indian. It has roots in ancient Indian science of yoga and meditation. Indriyan, Chetna, Conscience. Kuch din pehle main apne nana se bat kar raha tha. I respect him very much. He is really intelligent and a well read man. He always share his wisdom with me whenever we are together on any topic he finds the will to talk on that day. Be it my career, future, or family matters, handling relationships, be it humanity, religion, philosophy or history. On that particular day he was wearing his religious/philosophical hat. He said to me, beta I don't believe in God. Ye itna vishal brahmand aise hi to nai bana hoga. koi energy, koi shakti to ise chala rahi hai. But Ye ram, krushna, Allah, etc., these are just figment of our imagination. We can't worship thin air. We need something solid, something we can see and touch to worship, so we created God's images and shapes acc. To our liking. Main to ye maanta hun ki raam, Krishna kuch nahi hai. Bas ek vishal chetna hai. Is chetna ka koi chehra nahi hai. Aur hum Sab jeevon me bhi usi chetna ka ek ansh hai. Aur Marne k bad wo chetna apne sharir se nikal kar us vishal chetna me sama jati hai. I was bummed. I was midway through The Virtuals then, I was like, whoa, nana is saying exactly the same thing that I read in the Virtuals. At the same time my thoughts went out to all those old religious tv shows jahan Bhagwan raam ya Krishna kisi paapi ko maarte the and then unke sharir me se ek lau nikal kar Bhagwan k sharir me sama jati thi. The Higher Conscience. The Virtuals definitely was thought stirring. But it didn't impose those thoughts on us. It isn't preachy. It is an interesting fictional entertainer which also stirs our thoughts.

Coming to the story itself, I liked every sequence and scene in it. If I sit and try to explain which sequences I liked and what I liked in it, I guess my review would become 400 pages long. So I won't attempt that. All I would say is that the explanation to every fight sequence was so vivid, I could imagine it happening inside my own head. I realised, that this is how Dhruva and Mahamanav fight with each other. Anupam sir used to illustrate those mental fights in Dhruva comics, now he vividly and expertly explained that stuff without any illustration. Now I understand that if Mahamanav hits Dhruva with a mental fist, it doesn't mean that the mental fist is actually visible. He just feels it inside his head. That anupam sir has to draw that fist for illustration purpose is a different thing. I especially loved the sequence involving Malt Wisney.
I liked all the characters. I liked Kish the most. His characters had the most shades and layers. Kish's mysterious appearances and interactions with Sonya was my favourite part of the story. The way the story was shaping up, I was scared that Kish would either turn villainous or probably die. I kept praying don't do either of that. I liked Druk too. I hope they don't get overshadowed by Peat in Omni. I hope they both get nice and lengthy part in Omni. If a movie is ever made on The Virtuals, I could imagine ranbir kapur playing Kish and Hrithik playing Druk.
Earlier during Kulawa and Peat confrontation, I felt that why did he have to write a novel for it. He could have very well shown the same fight in a Dhruva comic. But as I went on, I realised that the canvas of the story was too big to be contained in a 60 page comic or even a 4 parter comic series. I wasn't really happy that anupam sir stopped working on Dhruva for writing a novel, but now I'm happy that it all culminated to the Virtuals. Now I've both Dhruva comics as well as a great entertaining novel. Now I've no issues with Anupam sir working on Omni. In fact I'm looking forward to The Omni.

An Overrated Phenomenon called 'LIFE' !

Stephen Hawkins once said that ‘the life is the most overrated phenomenon of the universe’. I agree with him that this phenomenon is being made of utmost importance by those who benefit from it. But the question, which should be asked in response, should be; ‘if not the life, then what else?’

Nothing in universe is still, from macro to micro level. Everything moves as do the thing infused with ‘life’.  Can whole universe be termed as alive by this standard? There is a subtle difference here. The heavenly bodies move as per known and yet to be known laws of science but the force responsible for movements in life-forms is the force of the Conscience. The results of actions of the life-forms can be deciphered by the science, but not the actions itself. In supposedly less intelligent life forms, the Conscience takes the form of the instinct.

The life is bound to be the most overrated phenomenon as it imbibes a force which is found nowhere else, at least what we know as of now. If we did not have eyes, what other use of the visible universe could be there? If roulette is set with certain rules, then what’s the use if the players are not there?

I believe in supreme force of the most wonderful object of the creation; the human brain. The only known object which can analyze itself! If we are not the bearers of the Conscience, then we are merely the roaming abode of micro-organisms, and then yes, the life is most overrated phenomenon of this creation.

THE GRID of THE VIRTUALS...Enslaving Consciences

This is an extension of the last post; Is Tech Making Us Stupid?

“Make no mistake, boy, it will be end of the world as you know it.” Sonya cut in. “The Grid is not imaginary. Its effect could already be seen everywhere! The first ill-effect of The Grid we feared was the bondage of human Conscience. During last decade, inventions have been replaced by innovations, people became much more well connected but without physical connectivity! Virtual Social networking is gaining on contact through senses! Humans are growing apart while they feel that they are getting better connected with billions like them! This is what The Grid is doing! Many path-breaking researches were either goofed up or were discontinued due to improper attention. Even space-programs suffered reversals, economy taking the blame!” Sonya hardly took two breaths in between, not that she actually required it! “This is what The Grid is doing to us.”
Peat was taken aback by this outburst.
“OK, mom! You made your point! Now calm down!”

THE 4th DEGREE LEVEL OF THE VIRTUALS- (The Grandpa enlighting Peat)

“Majority of our active Operatives are from 3rd Grade Level. They are capable of connecting even to conscious mind and influence the decisions of the subject for a desired outcome.”

“They must be quite powerful!” Jiala was quite fascinated with elucidation.

“They are. Peat knows it! But they have their limitations.” Grandpa sighed a little, “They are dependent on their subjects for execution. They can just influence the thinking. The worst they can do is to incapacitate their targets by maiming them through highly stressful body conditions.”

“I shiver just by recalling it!” Peat supported.

“But their capabilities would seem like mischiefs of a kid when compared with powers of the Virtuals of 4th Grade Level.”

This is what Peat was waiting for!

Grandpa took an unnecessary pause just to make Peat more anxious to know what he waited for so long!

4th Grade Level Virtuals are much more powerful than you can imagine. They are not graduated from lower levels, because they possess powers which cannot be developed! They are not dependent upon planting suggestions in their subject’s mind though this is often their first line of initiating an operation.”

“It’s...it’s hard to believe!” Jiala exclaimed. “What more a Virtual could do?”

“All of 4th Grade Level Virtuals are independent of their body for existence; they may or they may not possess a body. In addition to basic capability to carry and keep their senses with them, they can move objects with the power of their Conscience alone; objects to the size of even mountains!

“Wow!” Peat cried with a sudden rush of adrenalin. “My father could do all that!”

“No, son!” Grandpa had a touch of sympathy in his voice. “He never did anything like this!”

Every conscious entity is proud of its lineage. It’s perhaps the basic programming in our DNA. Peat felt very disappointed.

“But you said he was a highest degree of Virtual!” Peat sulked like a child.

“I did! Your father did nothing of these because he never needed to! He was a 5th degree of Virtual!”

3rd GRADE LEVEL OF THE VIRTUALS

The Virtuals of 2nd Grade Level can only probe the minds of humans. But 3rd Grade Level Virtuals can not only establish contact with subjects, but plant suggestions in their minds as well. Also, unlike Grade 2 Virtuals, Grade 3 Virtuals can establish contact with subjects regardless of their state of conscience; sleep, awake or unconscious.
3rd Level Virtuals receive mind data from 2nd Grade Virtuals and taking various factors in account, determine probable future events. If they find and conclude that the event could go against their cause, they put suitable suggestions in subject's mind and subject acts accordingly. They can put a series of suggestions in various minds at the same time, to construct desired development of an event and steer it to predetermined direction.
This may sound quite powerful and even preposterous, but its a fact that 3rd Grade Level Virtuals are dependent on their subjects for desired actions. All they can do is to put suggestions in minds, though powerful and irresistable.
But 4th Grade Level Virtuals, who supervise 3rd Grade Virtuals, have no such constraints.

THE VIRTUALS ON THE WAY TO THE WHITE HOUSE

5 LEVELS of Hierarchy in Virtual's Ranks

The Virtuals are very professional in their approach towards guiding the general human population (who are carriers of the Conscience), towards the free growth of the power of the Conscience.
This task requires constant evaluation, scrutiny and analysis of infinite events happening each second across the globe. This mammoth task is performed with the honorary support of incognizant human Consciences, called the Virtuals of 1st Grade Level (As explained in the previous post).
From here onwards, the actual hierarchy of the Virtuals begins. 2nd Grade Level of the Virtuals are capable of probing the minds of human Consciences to procure data which contains their past actions and is indicative of their apparent future moves. This mountainous data is handed over to the Virtuals of 3rd Grade Level for further processing.

ALL OF US ARE THE VIRTUALS OF 1st GRADE LEVEL

ALL OF US ARE THE VIRTUALS OF 1st GRADE LEVEL
(An excerpt from THE VIRTUALS)

“OK! Tell me one thing; did you ever have an out of the body experience?”
Grandpa was taking a longer approach to reconciliation. “I mean, when you felt like your soul was out of your body, roaming around, seeing things.”
“No, never! But Bibi ma…uh…our guardian, told us some mythological stories in which ancient sages could do that. It is certainly not something anybody could do!”
The old man flashed a mysterious smile. “On the contrary, boy, it is something everybody does on a regular basis, mostly while they are asleep and sometimes when they are unconscious. And you too are one of them!”
“I... I don’t believe it! If I did such an unimaginable thing, I’d remember it, won’t I?” Peat almost stammered.
“Not necessarily, you won’t! Simply because what roams out from a person’s body is his Conscience, his mental self, consisting purely of Thought Waves! We prefer to call it soul in general terms. But what a normal person is unable to do is to detach his five basic senses from his physical form and carry them with his astral Thought Form! That’s why his experiences are never registered and cannot be decoded by his conscious mind. Brain can only process the data coming through the Senses!”
Peat was finding it quite interesting.
“Means I could go out of my physical form but wouldn’t remember anything as then I had no senses!”
“Exactly!” Grandpa’s efforts for getting Peat’s attention were paying off. “It’s simply because people are too used to comprehend the world through their physical senses. But sometimes the astral experience becomes so strong that it permeates through to the conscious brain and is seen by the person as a weird dream, because that’s how the brain interprets it!”
The old man took a pause to gauge whether Peat was following him or not. Peat was all ears! He was finding the talk quite engrossing.
The old man continued.
“We Virtuals become more active at night. During night time, there are millions of Consciences of sleeping humans floating around, enough to pick and choose, to make contact with and get them to carry out our regular chores. They are of great help, of course. Without them we’d be working at a very slow pace. And you know the best thing about it is that they don’t even remember it! Some who do, dismiss it just as a weird dream. They are what we call the 1st degree of the Virtuals!”
Peat could neither keep his mouth closed nor flap his eyelids! He felt completely fascinated.
“You mean to say, almost everyone is a Virtual, but they just don’t know it!”
“As part-timers, yes! The few who have experienced it, don’t understand it. People see astral figures called ghosts, who are in fact Virtuals, making accidental or intentional contact with the person. Many feel unseen presences, or something roaming around. All of these are loose Consciences, some of which are good and some bad too!”
